Talia Collins donates 1% of each sale to The Healthy Seas Initiative, an international non-governmental organisation, to support their work in clearing the oceans of abandoned nets and other discarded plastics. These “ghost” fishing nets are incredibly harmful, polluting our oceans with plastic, as well as killing thousands of marine animals every year.

In 2019 alone, Healthy Seas divers and fishermen collected a total of 57,200 kg of abandoned fishing nets.

This discarded plastic waste, otherwise destined for landfill and harming our marine ecosystems, is collected and transformed into a new polymer and then into a brand new yarn used for the creation of the label’s luxurious swimwear collection.

We aim to minimize waste by using offcuts of fabric during production to create a diverse selection of hair accessories. These can also be personalisable with a monogram embroidery to make the perfect gift.

In 2019, we began using compostable and biodegradable bio plastic poly bags made from natural resources such as corn and potato starch. Trade regulations require that all items sent from our factory to our distributors must be individually packed in a bag. This is why choosing the right compostable bag was a huge priority for us to minimise the negative impacts on plastic waste. Our compostable bags are in accordance with standard EN 13432, designed to disintegrate in industrial or home compost units in less than 90 days, much faster than standard plastic which takes hundreds of years to decompose.

We also use recycled paper card for our swing tags as well as having office stationery sourced from Eco Craft. Our hang tangs are made out of recycled card, sourced from Milkweed and our hang tag strings are made out of jute.
