ZERO WASTE WEEK Talia Collins

ZERO WASTE WEEK

The first week of September marks the official Zero Waste Week - a movement to raise awareness on unnecessary waste.

At Talia Collins we are consistently coming up with new ideas to reduce unnecessary waste wherever possible. Our founder, Talia focuses on designing timeless styles with longevity in mind over seasonal trends.

When sourcing for new fabrics, trims or packaging, our key focus is natural or recycled materials, produced as locally as possible. Every piece of swimwear is crafted in a family run factory in Portugal using ECONYL® regenerated nylon. This fibre is made from recycled fishing nets and discarded plastics from all over the world . With every purchase, we donate 1% to The Healthy Seas Initiative - a charity dedicated to clearing up our oceans. Read more about our Sustainability Initiatives here.

We also aim to reduce waste by repurposing all extra scraps of fabric during the production process to create a variety of scrunchies and hair accessories for our customers. Regarding our packaging, we use recycled card, biodegradable bio-based plastic and recycled plastic pouches depending on the product. When you shop with us, your swimwear will also arrive in a reusable pouch, which we encourage you to use for all occasions (it’s a very versatile piece!).

As a zero waste policy we also donate any old season stock or samples to a charity shop in London, Wandsworth Oasis.

Join us in making small changes that add up to a big impact during Zero Waste Week, and beyond!
